Biotechnology in Your Daily Life

 

The NC Museum of Natural Sciences inaugural Biotechnology Day: “Biotechnology in Your Daily Life!” was June 30, 2012.  6,624 people enjoyed learning about biotechnology and how it affects their daily lives at the event.  The goal of this event is to educate the public (scientists and non-scientists) about the effects biotechnology has on our everyday lives.  Organizations (companies, educational institutions, non-profits) from around the state will be participating with hands-on demonstrations, experiments and crafts. Rebecca Hite and Kristine Wadosky represented UNC with a presentation on "How Muscles Do Work:  The Sarcomere" (see below).
