Kyle Terrell, NP, OCN, ACHPN

The core members of the clinical team have professional training and certification in palliative medicine and palliative care nursing. Members of the core team are based in the UNC School of Medicine and UNC Health Care System. Palliative care encompasses humanistic and scientific contributions from many perspectives; we rely on effective collaborations with community partners, faculty from other Schools at the University of North Carolina, and input from faculty outside of UNC.

Kyle Terrell is one of the nurse practitioners in Palliative Care.  Prior to joining the team in 2013 she had worked for 13 years as a surgical oncology nurse practitioner, first with Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD and then with UNC Health Care.  In addition, Kyle has experience in home hospice.

Kyle completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1994 and Master of Science in Nursing in 1999 at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, MD.  She is board certified as an acute care nurse practitioner, with additional ceritifications in both oncology and hospice & palliative care.  Prior to studying nursing she received a Bachelor of Arts in English and Psychology in 1976 from UNC-Chapel Hill and a Master of Education in Guidance & Counseling in 1978 from UNC-Greensboro.
