"Roadmap to Residency"
The AAMC has produced a comprehensive guide for applicants to U.S. residency programs. "Roadmap to Residency: From Application to the Match and Beyond," describes the policies, procedures, and practices associated with residency application and is useful for both U.S. and non-U.S. medical school students and graduates. The handbook includes a description of candidacy requirements, factors involved in specialty choice, and possible criteria for residency selection, as well as information about matching processes, program visits, potential application outcomes, and the transition from medical school to residency. The guide was produced with assistance from the American Medical Association, the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, and the Organization of Program Director Associations.
