Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Support Program

UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center and the NC Cancer Hospital are proud to offer individualized support for adolescent and young adult patients facing a cancer diagnosis. Lauren Lux, director of the AYA program, specializes in working with teenagers and young adults ages 13-26. Teenagers and young adults have different needs than other cancer patients. Your cancer treatment affects your education, relationships, career, independence, fertility, and more. The AYA cancer support program works with patients age 13-26 to provide:

  • One-on-one support
  • Programs and events for patients
  • AYA-specific financial and emotional resources
  • Connections to peer support

The AYA program is made possible through support from the Be Loud! Sophie Foundation.
