Two papers by Henrik Dohlman's lab have been highlighted in Science & Science Signaling. Henrik Dohlman is a joint professor in the Department of Pharmacology.
The most recent one, "The Crystal Structure of a Self-Activating G Protein α Subunit Reveals Its Distinct Mechanism of Signal Initiation" with lead author Janice C. Jones, was published in Science Signaling in the February 8, 2011 issue and highlighted in Science's Editor's Choice under Cell Signaling: Receptor-Free Signaling" in the February 25, 2011 issue.
Co-authors from on the paper are Jeff W. Duffy, Mischa Machius, Brenda R. S. Temple, Henrik Dohlman and Alan M. Jones, all from UNC.
The second paper, "Systematic analysis of essential genes reveals important regulators of G protein signaling" with Steven Cappell as lead author, was published in Molecular Cell in the June 11, 2010 issue and highlighted as Science Signaling's Editor's Choice: G Protein Signaling Is Not a Done Deal in the June 29, 2010 issue.
Co-authors on the paper are Rachel Baker and Henrik Dohlman from UNC and Dorota Scowyra from St. Louis University.
