The four Carolina Summer Fellows made presentations of their summer research July 21, 2014. 

The students, their mentors and the titles of their talks were:

  • Cayce Dorrier—Dr. Tom Kash, “Genetic manipulation of 5-HT1A receptors in the extended amygdala”
  • Colin McDowell—Dr. Rob Nicholas, “Resistance Mechanisms in Neisseria gonorrhoeae”
  • Laura Weng—Dr. Alex Duncan, “Role of Neisseria Gonorrhoeae Lytic Transglycosylases in Mediating Resistance to Host Antimicrobial Responses”
  • Raymond Zhang—Dr. Lee Graves, “The Regulation of BIRC6 in Drug-Resistant Chronic Myeloid Leukemia”
The students worked hard on their research projects and their presentations. Our congratulations to Raymond, Laura, Colin and Cayce for completing their summer research projects as Carolina Summer Fellows!
