Parents' Night Out

Are you a parent of a child with special needs? Do you need a night out?

Read a story about Friday Night Friends in UNC's student publication, The Daily Tar Heel!

Elizabeth Gersuk, DO, who recently graduated from our residency program in the UNC Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, is interested in pursuing a career in Pediatric Rehabilitation. Her older brother, Stephen, has a developmental disability, so she knows first-hand how difficult it can be for parents to find periods of respite, or relief, from their responsibilities as caregivers.

In 2005, she started Friday Night Friends (FNF) in Blacksburg, Virginia. The following year, she helped to start another respite program in Roanoke, Virginia. She would like to continue FNF in the Chapel Hill area.

In the meantime, she seeks additional input to develop this program further. Please fill out this survey and return it as an attachment via email to by mail to egersuk@vcom.vt.edu.

Dr. Gersuk would greatly appreciate your responses and any suggestions you have to offer.
