Parents: Take Our Respite Care Survey
Are you a parent of a child with special needs? Do you need a night out?
Elizabeth Gersuk, DO, is a resident physician in the UNC Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and is interested in pursuing a career in Pediatric Rehabilitation. Her older brother, Stephen, has a developmental disability, so she knows first-hand how difficult it can be for parents to find periods of respite, or relief, from their responsibilities as caregivers.
In 2005, she started Friday Night Friends (FNF) in Blacksburg, Virginia. The following year, she helped to start another respite program in Roanoke, Virginia. Now she would like to bring FNF to the Chapel Hill area, and expand this program around the state in the future.
Please fill out this survey and return it as an attachment via email to egersuk@unch.unc.edu or by mail to the UNC PM&R clinic, Campus Box 7200, Chapel Hill, NC, 27599-7200. Dr. Gersuk would greatly appreciate your responses and any suggestions you have to offer.
