UNC Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation’s outpatient clinic at the Center for Rehabilitation Care (CRC) recently won an award for superlative and consistent patient satisfaction.

The Exceptional Patient Services Awards recognized clinics showing high patient satisfaction for all four quarters in fiscal year 2015, according to the Press Ganey Satisfaction Survey.

“I really enjoy working with the staff here, and feel that our clinics are among the best in the UNC Heath Care system,” said Joshua Alexander, MD, associate professor and medical director at the CRC. “The award is indicative of our high commitment to provide excellent service to our patients.”

“The best part of this job is watching our patients in their recovery,” said Kristen Lewis, administrative specialist. Lewis noted that the staff had recently applauded a young man who had been in a car accident, who is now walking again.

Philip Austin, a patient and volunteer at the PM&R clinic, said: “I’m really pleased with the level of care the doctors provide here, and the level of care from the staff is over the top.” Austin (pictured below) still volunteers at the clinic’s front desk, as a grateful PM&R patient, as well as working at the main hospital gift shop as an inventory receiver.
