Kathleen Caron receives American Heart Association's National Established Investigator Award

January 2009 - Assistant Professor Kathleen Caron, PhD, has been awarded the American Heart Association's National Established Investigator Award!  This five year award "supports mid-term investigators with unusual promise who have demonstrated a commitment to the cardiovascular or cerebrovascular science area as indicated by prior publication history and accomplishments."  Only 17 Awards were made this year.  Funds from this Award will be used to investigate genetics mechanisms that underlie gender-dependent differences in cardioprotection.
