Current Plastic surgery residents

 

Returning Plastic Surgery residents for the 2011-2012 year include PGY 8 residents Stephanie Beidler, MD, and Winnie Tong, MD.  Current PGY 7 residents are Cindy Wu, MD and John Clayton, MD. New to the Plastic Surgery program (PGY 6) are Janelle Wagner, MD, and Daniel Krochmal, MD.

Dr. Tong received her medical degree from the University of California-San Francisco and trained at the University of California-Fresno in General Surgery. She also did a Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York before joining the UNC Plastic Surgery residency program.

Dr. Beidler graduated from the University of Chicago-Pritzer School of Medicine and trained in General Surgery at the University of North Carolina. Dr. Beidler also spent time in several Fellowships: as a National Institutes of Health Trauma Research Fellow, a Pediatric Craniofacial Fellow in the UNC Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and a Wound Care Research Fellow also at the UNC in the Division of Vascular Surgery.

Dr. Wu received her medical degree at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Illinois. Dr. Wu completed her General Residency at the University of Chicago Hospitals before she joined the UNC Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Prior to to receiving his medical degree at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, Dr. Clayton received his Master of Public Health degree in International health/Epidemiology and Doctorate of Philosophy, Epidemiology from Tulane University in New Orleans. He joined the UNC Plastic Surgery resident staff after completing his General Surgery residency at UCLA.

Janelle Wagner graduated from the State University of New York Downstate College of Medicine. She completed her general surgery residency at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. During her surgical residency she spent one year in the laboratory at New York University Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery as a Research Fellow.

Dr. Krochmal received his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School, as well as his surgical internship. His General Surgery residency was at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona.
