Dr. van Aalst receives grant for Tissue Engineering Lab

The Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation (PSEF) recently awarded a $50,000 grant to Dr. John van Aalst for the Tissue Engineering Lab. The project involved with the grant is entitled "Elusive Deformable Tissue Engineered Cartilage: Focus on Elastin". The grant was awarded through the National Endowment for Plastic Surgery. The PSEF is the research and philanthropic arm of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. The PSF's mission is to improve the quality of life of patients through research and development. PSF accomplishes its mission by providing invaluable support to the research of plastic surgery sciences through a variety of grant programs. Contributions to the PSF also foster the career development of plastic surgeons by sponsoring visiting professors and support the international service efforts of plastic surgeons throughout the world.
