| The RNA Society of North Carolina was formed officially on July 2, 1996. The Society's mission is to promote communication and collaboration among individuals interested in the biological and chemical aspects of ribonucleic acid and to promote implementation of new technology resulting from research on all properties of RNA. To achieve this mission, the Society organizes a yearly series of seminars by invited speakers, a biennial International RNA Symposium , and an annual regional research meeting. The Society encourages participation by members of the academic, government, and corporate communities; the Society welcomes proposals for sponsoring additional activities to increase the effectiveness of accomplishing its goals. The RNA Society of North Carolina is grateful to North Carolina Biotechnology Center for encouraging creation of the Society, for its generous financial support, and for providing conference facilities and administrative assistance. |
