Welcome

School of MedicineThe UNC Pelvic Pain Research Center is an affiliate of the UNC Center for Neurosensory Disorder in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Our mission is to equip women, their partners, and healthcare providers with the educational resources to better diagnose, treat and prevent long-term sequelae of persistent pelvic pain. We are conducting foundation-level research focused on understanding the underlying mechanism of persistent pain state in the pelvic region.

The Pelvic Pain Clinic at UNC is a regional tertiary center for women with pelvic pain associated with a range of gynecological conditions such as endometriosis and vulvodynia. In addition, we have unique expertise, assessment and treatment of postoperative pain particularly after a urogynecological procedure (e.g. bladder support and prolapse).

If you are a patient or an individual interested in helping us expand our understanding of pain in women please contact us by clicking the “Registry” button below and completing the short form. Also, individuals interested in both research and patient care can concurrently receive clinical assessment while participating in research by clicking the “Registry” button. After completing the Registry form a member of our research team will contact you.

Please fill out the Registry to the best of your ability and include a phone number and/or email address.
