Lorna Moser, PhD

Lorna Moser, PhD, is the director of the UNC ACTT Technical Assistance Center in the UNC Department of Psychiatry’s Center for Excellence in Community Mental Health, and coordinator of the NC ACT Coalition, a grassroots organization of ACT providers.  She is the co-author of the TMACT, and has evaluated and consulted with ACT teams across the United States and abroad.  Dr. Moser graduated from Indiana University Purdue University’s Clinical Psychology program, with an emphasis in psychiatric rehabilitation. While there, she worked with the ACT Center of Indiana and as an implementation monitor for the SAMHSA-funded National Implementing Evidence-Based Practices Project. Her dissertation research on the use of restrictive practices within ACT has earned her national awards and she has worked in a wide range of clinical settings, including two ACT teams.  Dr. Moser completed post-doctoral training in the Services Effectiveness Research Program in the Duke University Medical School Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.

Selden Holt, MSW, LCSW, training coordinator, received an A.B. from Duke University and an MSW from UNC Chapel Hill. From 2001-06, she provided assessments and child case management, then project and clinic leadership at the local community mental health center. From 2006-2008, she served as Training Coordinator for a comprehensive mental health service provider. She has provided training for law enforcement, students, and mental health professionals in a variety of settings. At CECMH, she coordinates training courses and lecture series, a case conference, employee trainings, and has co-created the multi-agency Group Home Employee Skills Training (GHEST) for group home administrators across the region. Holt also leads therapy groups, including smoking cessation, weight management, social skills, and Illness Management and Recovery. She teaches and provides social work support to the psychiatry residents and is the liaison to several allied professional internship programs. She serves on the Brushes with Life committee.
