Biography

Kelly graduated from the University of Delaware with a BS in Nursing in 1999. She then worked with children and adolescent inpatients at Southwood Psychiatric Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA as both a staff nurse and nursing supervisor. In 2001, Kelly began her position as clinical evaluation nurse in the emergency room of Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic (WPIC). From 2002-2007, Kelly worked in WPIC's Services for the Treatment of Early Psychoses program, performing assessments, therapy, psychoeducation, and working on research protocols involving early episode schizophrenia patients. Kelly earned her masters degree in nursing from the University of Pittsburgh in 2003 as well as received her accreditation as a Clinical Specialist in Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing. In 2007, Kelly relocated to the Triangle area to begin her position as Program Coordinator of the CERT-BD with UNC's Department of Psychiatry.
