Summary Statement:

Dr. Brantley is Director of the Forensic Psychiatry Service and professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.  She also maintains a general psychotherapy private practice.  She is a member of the Psychology and Law Committee of the North Carolina Psychological Association and belongs to the American Psychological Association and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts.  She chairs the American Psychological Association Task Force to Develop Guidelines for the Practice of Parenting Coordination.  She is a board member of the Center for Cooperative Parenting in Chapel Hill.  Dr. Brantley is a frequently invited speaker at international, national, and state meetings and her publications are in the area of divorce.  She received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Duke University and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
