Summary Statement:

Dr. Hanner is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at UNC.  She specializes in consultation-liaison work with general hospital patients. She also works with adult patients with addictive disorders including those with Opioid Dependence requiring maintenance therapy with buprenorphine (Suboxone). Dr. Hanner completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Harvard at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She then served as an active duty General Medical Officer for the U. S. Navy. Dr. Hanner completed residency training in Psychiatry at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. She then completed sub-specialty fellowship training in both Addiction Psychiatry at Columbia University and Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry at New York University. Dr. Hanner is a native of Norfolk, VA and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
