Dr. Killenberg received her undergraduate degree from Yale University and her medical degree from the University of Connecticut. She completed residency training in adult psychiatry at Brown University in 1996, and clinical training in the field of women's reproductive psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital. She joined the UNC psychiatry department as a clinical assistant professor in April 2009. Dr Killenberg works as an outpatient psychiatrist in the Women's Mood Disorders Program, and treats women suffering from mood and anxiety symptoms in pregnancy and postpartum, premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD), and perimenopausal mood changes. She supervises a weekly resident psychiatrists' clinic in this area of expertise. Dr. Killenberg also treats general adult patients with depression and anxiety.
