Dr. Mathes joined the UNC Center of Excellence for Eating Disorders as a post-doctoral fellow. She is interested in the role of central reward mechanisms in excessive exercise as it contributes to the development and maintenance of anorexia nervosa and binge eating disorder. She is examining the neurobiological and genetic foundations of eating disorders using animal models. In 2008 Wendy was awarded a scholarship to attend the International Mammalian Genome Conference in Prague.
