UNC Department of Psychiatry physicians and addiction specialists provide comprehensive assessments and a range of outpatient treatment options .  These specialists have extensive training and experience in counseling and treating patients with alcohol and drug problems as well as other addictive disorders.

Our clinicians can provide:

  • Assessments of substance abuse problems
  • Couples and family counseling regarding substance use
  • Assistance with the selection of pharmacotherapy
  • Individual counseling
  • Treatment for substance or presciption medication abuse, gambling, or other addictions
