The Division of Pulmonary Medicine at UNC cares for patients with a wide range of pulmonary diseases in the general pulmonary and allergy clinic held at Meadowmont Village Circle. Multidisciplinary clinics specializing in the care of lung cancer, sleep disorders, cystic fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, non-CF bronchieolitis and lung transplant patients combine the expertise of several medical disciplines (e.g. thoracic surgery, medical and radiation oncology, physical therapy, social work, neurology, nutrition, psychology) to provide state-of-the-art, integrated care for these particular disease areas. In addition, special expertise in the care of patients with a1-antitrypsin deficiency, COPD, pulmonary hypertension, sarcoidosis, pleural diseases and primary ciliary dyskinesia exists within the division.
To make an appointment or referral to any of these clinics, please call the UNC Pulmonary Specialty Clinic at 984-974-5703. Please inform us as soon as possible if you are unable to come to your scheduled appointment. Please bring your medial insurance card and the names/doses of any medications you are taking. All new patients must have a referral from their primary care physician.
For referring physicians: Mail or fax or send with the patient all pertinent records, including reports of blood tests, electrocardiograms, pulmonary function tests, and any other laboratory tests that may have a bearing on his or her problem.
We have a financial counselor on hand to help patients resolve billing problems, assist with financial arrangements and screen patients for eligibility for UNC assistance programs.
The best way to obtain a prescription refill is to have your pharmacy fax refill requests to 984-974-5737. Please allow 3 business days for refill requests to be completed.
