The Division of Pulmonary Medicine at UNC cares for patients with a wide range of pulmonary diseases in the general pulmonary and allergy clinics as a sub specialty held at the Ambulatory Care Clinic (ACC) building. Multidisciplinary clinics specializing in the care of lung cancer, sleep disorders, cystic fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, non-CF bronchieolitis and lung transplant patients combine the expertise of several medical disciplines (e.g. thoracic surgery, medical and radiation oncology, physical therapy, social work, neurology, nutrition, psychology) to provide state-of-the-art, integrated care for these particular disease areas. In addition, special expertise in the care of patients with a1-antitrypsin deficiency, pulmonary hypertension, sarcoidosis, pleural diseases and primary ciliary dyskinesia exists within the division.
Location and Parking
The Pulmonary Clinic is located on the 3rd floor of the Ambulatory Care center (ACC), on the corner of Mason Farm Road and Columbia Street. Parking is available at the ACC. A free shuttle to and from UNC Hospitals is available all day.
To make an appointment or referral to any of these clinics, please call the UNC Pulmonary Clinic at 919-966-7933. Please inform us as soon as possible if you are unable to come to your scheduled appoinment. Please bring your medial insurance card and the names/doses of any medications you are taking. All new patients must have a referral from their primary care physician.
For referring physicians: Mail or fax or send with the patient all pertinent records, including reports of blood testrs, electrocardiograms, pulmonary function tests, and any other laboratory tests that may have a bearing on his or her problem.
