Honors and Awards

Yueh Z. Lee, MD, PhD, was one of five recipients of UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center’s 2013 Clinical/Translational Developmental Research Awards. Dr. Lee received one-year $50,000 funding in July 2013 for his project entitled, “A Novel Data Linkage Approach to Examine Disparities in Breast Cancer Screening and Outcomes.”  

Louise Henderson, PhD, was one of five recipients of UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center’s 2013 Population Sciences Cancer Research Awards. Dr. Henderson received one-year $50,000 funding in July 2013 for her project entitled, “Evaluation of the Lung nodule Sensitivity of Stationary Chest Tomosynthesis versus Chest Radiographs in Patients.”

Valerie Jewells, DO, joined the American Journal of Neuroradiology editorial board as a reviewer for a two-year appointment in August 2013.

Dinggang Shen, PhD, received R01 funding from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) for a five-year study entitled, “Infant Brain Measurement and Super-Resolution Atlas Construction” in August 2013.

Pei Zhang, PhD, a UNC Biomedical Research Imaging Center (BRIC) Post-Doctoral Research Associate, received the Young Scientist Award Honorable Mention at the 16th International Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention (MICCAI) Conference in Nagoya, Japan, in September 2013.
