Associate Professor of Radiology Vijay Bosemani, MD, FRCR, was named a new member of the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) International Advocacy Group in March 2021. This RCR group supports the organization’s global efforts through contributing newsletter articles, publicizing new projects, researching opportunities to sustainably advance clinical radiology services overseas, and developing teaching resources. Dr. Bosemani has been an RCR member since 2006.
Professor of Radiology Robert G. Dixon, MD, FSIR, presented, “Creating the First IR Fellowship in Kenya” on UNC Radiology’s collaborative effort to initiate the first interventional radiology training program in Kenya at the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR)’s Annual Scientific Meeting in March 2021.
R1 Austin Evans, MD, was chosen in March 2021 for the Global Health Leadership Pathway (GHLP), a UNC Global Radiology residency track with mentorship, targeted curriculum, international elective, and project integration for Department residents with interests in global health as an integral component of their residency training.
Professor of Radiology Louise Henderson, PhD, was elected in March 2021 to a seat on the School of Medicine Committee to Review Appointments and Promotions to Associate Professor (Tenure Track). Dr. Henderson’s term will begin July 2021.
Professor of Radiology Cherie M. Kuzmiak, DO, FACR, FSBI, is among 273 University of North Carolina employees who reached their 20-year service milestone with UNC-Chapel Hill and the State of North Carolina in 2020. The 2020 Carolina 20-Year Society Service Appreciation Banquet scheduled for spring 2020 celebrating Dr. Kuzmiak and other honorees was postponed to 2021.
Associate Professor of Radiology Daniel Nissman, MD, was elected Secretary of the MSK Ultrasound Community for the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) in February 2021, term beginning April 2021. Dr. Nissman has served as an instructor for the AIUM’s hands-on sessions at the Institute’s annual meetings since 2014.
