- Dr. Joseph K.T. Lee has been selected as a gold medalist by The Asian Oceanian Congress of Radiology. This highly distinguished award was given out in Seoul, Korea in October of 2008 by the 12th Asian Oceanian Congress. Only 2 American radiologists have received this honor before: Alex Margulis and Ann Osborn.
4 UNC Radiologists (Dr. Joseph K.T. Lee, Dr. Mauricio Castillio, Dr. William McCartney, and Dr. Joseph Stavas) are among the 198 UNC Healthcare physicians who appear in The Best Doctors in America® 2007-2008 database. Dr. Matthew Mauro and Dr. Paul Molina (Chairman and Executive Vice Chairman, respectively) have also appeared on this list in previous years.
- The Eleventh Annual Ernest H. Wood Lecture "Intracranial Tumoral Imaging: Where are we now?" was presented by Edmond A. Knopp, MD (Chief of Neuroradiology NY University) in the Conference Room Basement of the Women's and Children's Hospital, 12pm on November 9th.
UNC Radiology Professor Richard Semelka, MD was awarded honorary fellowship in the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiology (RANZCR), marking the second UNC Radiology Professor (Paul Molina, MD FACR) to receive this honor in the last 3 years (learn more)
