Screening Programs

UNC offers a wide range of diagnostic imaging screening programs. We offer well established and internationally recognized programs in breast cancer screening with mammography, digital mammography, ultrasound and MRI, and liver cancer screening with MRI. We also offer novel screening programs. Currently virtual colonography using CT is established as a clinical program at UNC, as are whole body MRI and pancreatic cancer screening programs with MRI. UNC is the world's leading center for imaging the pancreas with MRI and is one of the top centers for whole body MRI. Interested individuals should be aware that at the present time most novel screening programs are not reimbursed by insurance or other health care programs and must be self-funded.
