Musculoskeletal Imaging

The Musculoskeletal radiology section includes two attending radiologists, a fellow and residents rotating on service. This section is responsible for interpretation of a wide variety of radiologic studies, including conventional radiography, computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for all adult outpatients and inpatients with musculoskeletal pathology. We also participate in pediatric MRI services in conjunction with the pediatric imaging service. We perform essentially all interventional radiologic procedures pertaining to the musculoskeletal system.

Available CT scanners include two 64-slice units that provide high-quality imaging in any plane, as well as four 1.5 T MR scanners that are well-suited to musculoskeletal work. Members of our section are available for consultation on any clinical case and provide immediate interpretation and consultation services for the Department of Emergency Medicine.
