Word from our Chiefs
The Carolina Way
The “Carolina Way” is a phrase coined by legendary University of North Carolina basketball coach Dean Smith. More than a phrase, it is a philosophy that Coach Smith instilled in his players and the University of North Carolina engenders in its students. The “Carolina Way”, as it relates to basketball, is about playing together, playing hard, and respecting your teammates and opponents. As it relates to our university, it is a culture of excellence and a commitment to others, our state, and our global community. A belief in this philosophy and the immutable bond that links our alumni combine to create what we affectionately refer to as the “UNC Family”.
UNC Radiology seeks to foster this philosophy as well. State of the art equipment, world-renowned faculty, and top-flight teaching propel us toward this standard of excellence. However, what sets us apart is our commitment to supporting our fellow residents and serving a varied and complex patient population while doing so in a family atmosphere. Our residents are not only colleagues but also friends beyond the halls of the hospital. Basketball leagues, poker nights, and impromptu weekend outings further these friendships and family atmosphere.
Please take some time to explore our website and learn more about who we are. We welcome any questions you may have about our program and hope you have a chance to visit our program and find out why Chapel Hill is known as “the southern part of heaven.”
