Facilities at UNC and NCSU

There are numerous core facilities and other resources available to investigators at UNC and NCSU. Open cores are available to both internal and external users. For a full, searchable list of the core facilities available at UNC, please visit the UNC Cores website.

The most relevant cores at UNC include: the Human Pluripotent Stem Cell Core Facility, Flow Cytometry, CGBID Biostatistics Core, Animal Clinical Chemistry & Gene Expression, Animal Histolopathology Core, Animal Models Core, National Gnotobiotic Rodent Resource Center, Mutant Mouse Regional Resource Center, and the Michal Hooker Proteomics Center. In addition there are multiple Imaging Cores for light microscopy–CGBID Imaging Core, Confocal and Multiphoton Imaging, and Microscopy Services Laboratory. Whole animal and human imaging is available in the Biomedical Research Imaging Center (BRIC), with storage and analysis service also available.

Services available at NCSU include: the Non-Wovens Institute, the Clinical Studies Core (CSC), the Central Procedures Laboratory (CPL), Bioinformatics, Flow Cytometry and Cell Sorting, Large Animal (pig) Transgenics, BSL3 (small animal).
