This award honors Drs. Eva J. Salber and Harry Phillips and their commitment to the health of all people, especially those in rural or underserved communities. The Salber-Phillips Award recognizes medical students who carry out the ideals of Drs. Salber and Phillips through community-oriented projects that improve the health or well-being of elderly people. Students may submit current or previously completed projects. Three types of projects are eligible: Project settings may include, but are not limited to, interdisciplinary geriatric assessment centers; hospices; long-term care facilities; senior centers; and local, state, national and international health agencies or programs that serve elderly people. One or more awards of up to $1,000 may be given. Students who wish to
participate should submit the following: 1) A project description (limited
to three-pages) with subsections titled Introduction, Background, Project
Objectives, Methodology, (Anticipated) Project Outcomes, Timeline and
Budget 2) A letter of reference from a faculty member who served, or is
