Sim S. Galazka is the Walter M. Seward Professor and Chair of the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Virginia. Prior to his appointment as Chair in 1998, he was Professor of Family Medicine and Anthropology at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He is board certified in Family Medicine and Geriatric Medicine and maintains an active clinical practice encompassing these two disciplines. He currently teaches courses for fellows, residents, and medical students at the University of Virginia. His academic and scholarly interests include organizational culture and the dynamics of change in complex systems, faculty development, and clinically applied anthropology.
