Harsha Thirumurthy is a development and health economist whose research is focused on two primary areas: (1) estimating the effect of adult and child health interventions on socio-economic outcomes in developing countries; and (2) identifying and evaluating interventions and policies to achieve changes in health behavior.
This session will describe what conventional economics and behavioral economics have to say about individuals’ health-related decision-making, and present a summary or ongoing and recently completed studies that apply behavioral economics insights to HIV-related health behaviors in Africa.
The "Heels in the Field" series is co-sponsored by the Institute for Global Health & Infectious Diseases and Curriculum in Global Studies.
