Gallery talk / panel discussion held in conjunction with “Learned in Science, Explored in Art,” an exhibit of paintings by Dr. Wolfgang Ritschel, professor emeritus at U. Cincinnati. Painter and sculptor, Ritschel holds doctorates in medicine, pharmacology and philosophy. Several of his paintings & collages on are display on 1st & 2nd floors of Health Sciences Library until December 31.  Panelists include: Terrence Holt, M.D., Ph.D., research asst prof in UNC Social Medicine, clinical assistant professor in Geriatrics & author of In the Valley of the Kings; Gretchen Case, Ph.D., visiting instructor in Social Medicine, Thompson Writing Program fellow at Duke University & adjunct lecturer at Northwestern Univ Feinberg School of Medicine; Ann Millett-Gallant, Ph.D., lecturer in UNC-Greensboro Liberal Studies Program & Art Dept, & author of forthcoming book The Disabled Body in Contemporary Art.
