UNC Department of Surgery Faculty Research Committee
Goal: The goal of the Research Committee in the Department of Surgery is to help expand the volume and scope of research of all types including: basic science, population science (including clinical effectiveness), and education research. The Organizing Sub-Committee will look for opportunities to help all faculty get started with research projects in ways most likely to be successful.

Organizing Sub-Committee (Appointments to the Organizing Sub-Committee will be for as long as extramural funding of significance is held by an investigator and for at least one year following termination of their grants):

The committee will report every six months at a faculty meeting about activity and give an update.
The initial meeting of the Research Committee (full) will be in April to develop format for meetings and establish specific goals.
This meeting is open to ALL faculty with an interest in research.
