Please plan to attend the Semi-Annual Medical Staff Meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009 in the Medical Biomolecular Research Building (MBRB) auditorium (note we are NOT at the Friday Center this year). We will have a special guest speaker: Tom Robertson, Vice President of Business Strategies and Tactics for the University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC).
Mr. Robertson’s presentation is titled “Building the AMC of the Future: A New Look at Portfolio Management”. It is a candid assessment of one means by which academic medical centers can continue to generate the resources they need to fulfill their four-part mission of patient care, research, education, and community service. The presentation comes highly recommended by Mr. Park, who serves on the UHC's Board.
The Meeting will start promptly at 6:15 p.m. and will conclude by 7:30 p.m. Beverages and heavy hors d'oeuvres will be served beginning at 5:30 p.m. We will have parking vouchers on hand for those coming from offsite who wish to park in the Ambulatory Care Center parking lot. As a reminder, the agenda will include the School of Medicine's annual Nursing Recognition Awards.
