Benson R. Wilcox, MD, 1932-2010May 11, 2010 -- We are sad to report the death of Benson R. Wilcox, M.D., a distinguished heart surgeon who served 29 years as chief of the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He died at his home on May 11, 2010, after a courageous struggle with brain cancer. Benson R. Wilcox, M.D., 1932-2010 A memorial service will be held Friday, May 14, at 2 p.m. at Gerrard Hall on the UNC campus.
