Gerber and Haithcock Awarded NC TraCS GrantsMay 20, 2010 -- Drs. David Gerber, Division of Abdominal Transplant division, and Ben Haithcock, Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, have each been awarded a $10,000 grant by the NC TraCS Institute. NC Translational and Clinical Sciences Institute Dr. Gerber's work will focus on Novel 3-Dimensional Nanofibrous Extra Cellular Matrix for Generation of Functioning Neo-Islets, and Dr. Haithcock's project is entitled Evaluation of Swine Transplanted Lungs Retrieved from Brain-Dead Donors.
