Note from Dr. Hultman
I felt that this was important to let everyone know that with some careful planning, teamwork, and continuous quality improvement, such efficiency is not only possbile, but a lot of fun for all involved. I can't tell everyone how much I appreciate the hard work of the CRNAs, the circulating nurses, and the scrub nurses.
Now that we have figured out how to do this, we do need to make a change. We hope to transition a major portion of this practice to the ACC, starting in late September. We will encounter another learning curve--no doubt--but I have every confidence that this practice will be just as successful there, as at the Main and W/C.
