The new UNC Burn Reconstruction and Aesthetic Center is an office-based, off-campus center for aesthetic, reconstructive, and laser patients, offering surgical and non-surgical services in a private, convenient and relaxing private-practice setting. Conceived and developed by UNC plastic surgeons, the facility was created for providing patients with a unique experience of state-of-the-art cosmetic surgery, reconstructive surgery, non-surgical rejuvenation, and laser treatments combining the resources of the UNC School of Medicine, the UNC Health Care System, and the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center. Under the direction of C. Scott Hultman, MD, MBA and Lynn Damitz, MD, the 7,837 square-foot facility has 6 clinic rooms, 2 procedure rooms, and has 7 full-time employees.
Since the first patient was seen at the Burn Reconstruction and Aesthetic Center in September 2012, nearly 150 new patients have been seen with over 200 return appointments as of the end of February 2013.
