2017 Research Day and Nathan A. Womack Surgical Society Meeting

The date has been set for the Second Annual Research Day and Nathan A. Womack Surgical Society Meeting. This year we are going to partner with the Womack Society and get our Alumni involved! Continuing with our showcase of your great work last year, we will be working on didactic and informational sessions and oral and poster presentations with best presentation awards. For the Womack Society portion of the event, the Nathan A. Womack Distinguished Visiting Professor will be Dr. Adil Haider.

Adil Haider, MD, MPH, FACS
is an active trauma and critical care surgeon, prolific researcher, and the Kessler Director for the Center for Surgery and Public Health (CSPH), a joint initiative of Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.He is also the Deputy Editor of JAMA Surgery and holds numerous leadership positions. Dr. Haider is credited with uncovering racial disparities after traumatic injury and establishing the field of traumadisparities research. He is regarded as one of the foremost experts on healthcare inequities in the United States.

Fellows and medical students are strongly encouraged and welcome.

Faculty attendance mandatory.

Call for Abstracts!

Abstracts are now being accepted for the 2017 Research Day and Nathan A. Womack Surgical Society Meeting. Previously presented posters and/or abstracts are acceptable. Mandatory attendance and participation with abstract submission is asked of all residents. Submissions from fellows and medical students are also encouraged and welcomed.

Abstracts must be less than 3,000 characters including spaces. Top ranked abstract submissions will be selected for oral presentations. Applicants selected for oral presentations will be informed by late May. Prizes will be awarded for the top oral and poster presentations.

All abstracts must be submitted electronically through the online submission form. The deadline for submission is Monday, May 15, 2017 by 11:59 pm. Late submissions will not be accepted.
