Saira Sheikh MD, a fellow in the UNC Rheumatology and in the UNC Allergy/Immunology training programs, presented a talk entitled, "Allergy to galactose-alpha-1,3-galactose and delayed reactions to mammalian meat: the Chapel Hill Experience," at the Southeastern Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (SEAAI) Annual Meeting in Florida, September 13-15. At the meeting, she received the Best Fellow Presentation Award for her work. Dr. Sheikh works with Maya R. Jerath MD, PhD, on this project.
The SEAAI is an educational organization with a focus on presenting the latest advances in allergy and immunology and on enhancing the experience of fellows-in-training.
