Research Summary

    Dr. Allen is a health services researcher and exercise physiologist whose research focuses on improving care and outcomes for patients with osteoarthritis and other musculoskeletal conditions. Her focuses on: 1) Development and testing of patient and provider-based interventions to improve osteoarthritis outcomes in the primary care setting, 2.) Development and testing of physical activity and rehabilitation interventions for osteoarthritis, 3.) Identifying causes of disparities in osteoarthritis outcomes and developing interventions to reduce disparities, 4.) Promoting informed decision-making among patients with osteoarthritis, particularly women and racial / ethnic minorities.
