We are excited to announce the first installment of our public outreach program, “Tarheel Tox Talks,” on Tuesday, October 4th at Chapel Hill’s Tobacco Road Sports Café. Dr. Rebecca Fry, Associate Professor in the UNC Curriculum in Toxicology and Director of the UNC Superfund research program, will give a community-centered presentation about heavy metal contamination in North Carolina’s drinking water and how it can affect community health. This will be followed by a Q&A session and an opportunity to chat with Dr. Fry and other local scientists who study environmental health issues. We encourage both the local and UNC communities, and anyone with an interest in science or environmental health, to attend.
This in an informal, family-friendly, interactive, community-based presentation that can be enjoyed with dinner and/or drinks! The full Tobacco Road menu will be available for purchase and draft beer will be only $2.50. The event is free, but space is limited, so if you are interested please use the RSVP link below.
