The Golberg Fellowship honors the outstanding career of Dr. Leon Golberg. Outstanding candidates are encouraged to identify potential mentors from the UNC faculty, and to develop and submit a research proposal for consideration by the Golberg Fellowship Committee. Curriculum faculty members with primary appointment at UNC-CH are eligible to be mentors.
The fellowship carries a stipend of $40,000 per year plus $2,000 for each year of relevant experience. In addition, it provides health insurance, as well as travel funds to present research results at the Society of Toxicology Annual Meeting.
Golberg Fellowship Applications are in the form of a modified National Research Service Award (NRSA) proposal. The application should describe the research project that the applicant and faculty sponsor wish to pursue, and it should include the following components of an NRSA.
