Dr. Ninad Deshmukh, was born in India and graduated from B.J. Medical College in Pune, India in 2002. From 2001-2006, he underwent postgraduate medical and surgical training in India completing his general surgery training in 2006.
Froom 2006-2008, he was a clinical surgical oncology fellow at the Seth G.S. Medical College in Parel, Mumbai India. From 2009-2011, he was a clinical transplant fellow at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In 2011, he became Assistant Professor in the Division of Abdominal Transplantation at UNC-Chapel Hill.
He is a member of national and international organizations including the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Transplant Surgeons. He is involved in teaching activities at the undergraduate and graduate level at the University of North Carolina and has an active interest in novel techniques in surgical education. Clinically his specialty interests include liver transplantation, renal transplantation, and dialysis access surgery.
