Edgar "Will" Kirby IV, MD

PGY4 Resident

 

Will was born in Raleigh, NC and grew up in Greenville, NC.  He graduated from Duke University with a B.A. and honors in Economics.  Prior to his career in medicine, he worked as an investment banker and derivatives trader with Morgan Stanley in New York City.  He then attended Columbia University for medical school.

As a resident at UNC, his research has focused on outcomes based research with a specific interest in the economics of medical decision-making and budget impact analysis.  He was honored with the Surgical Forum Excellence in Research Award at the 2013 American College of Surgeons for his work in this area.  He enjoys spending time with his family and friends and playing golf.
