Portlets

Portlets are dynamically generated or static content views that can be displayed in special parts of the site layout. There are two basic kinds: fixed-column portlets and content well portlets.

Fixed Column Portlets

These portlets are the kind you see most often—appearing vertically in the far left and right-hand columns of the layout.

Content Well Portlets

These can be positioned horizontally, above or below the normal content.
