Managing Portlets

On the Manage Portlets screen for content well portlets, controls are listed for each portlet well. Each set of controls pertain to the portlets for that specific well. A user must be assigned the "Can Manage" role in order to add/manage portlets.

Inheritance

By default, portlets added to a folder will propagate down to display on sub-folders and pages. For example, if you added a static text portlet above, containing an image slider, to the home folder (not page) of your site, that portlet would be inherited and displayed throughout the rest of the site.

  1. Navigate to the page or folder you wish to change (i.e., the one where you want the portlets disabled), and click the appropriate "Add, edit or remove..." link.
  2. In the Parent portlets drop-down menu, change Do not block to Block.
  3. Click Save settings at the bottom of the edited column, in the Manage Portlets view.

Unblock Portlets on an Individual Page or Folder

  1. Navigate to the page or folder you wish to show inherited portlets on, and click the appropriate "Add, edit or remove..." link.

  3. Click Save settings at the bottom of the edited column, in the Manage Portlets view.

Portlets on the Default View of a Folder

Clicking an "Add, edit or remove..." link from green View tab always takes you to the portlet management screen for the page, not the folder.  If you want to specify portlets for a folder, you should go to the contents of that folder first.
