IBS Pocket PC Study: Need Subjects with IBS and Healthy Controls

Description The purpose of this research study is to learn about how bowel symptoms vary throughout the day and in response to specific stresses people encounter.

Requirements
  • All subjects must be 18 years of age or older
  • Case subjects must have a history of IBS for at least 6 months
  • Healthy control subjects must have no GI symptoms/disorders
  • Study participation lasts 2 weeks
  • Two 45-minute long study visits at UNC are required
  • Subjects will be asked to record their bowel symptoms, stress levels, and sleep habits on a daily basis for 14 days using both paper diary cards and a pocket PC device
Compensation $200 for completing this study
