Professional Background:

Dr Baldwin is a 28 year veteran of the US Air Force where he served in a number of roles including, clinician, researcher and educator. After seven years as a clinical optometrist in Arizona, North Carolina, and Texas, he completed an Air Force sponsored PhD in Vision Science. His contact lens and refractive surgery research led to the approval of contact lenses and laser vision correction for Air Force Pilots. Dr Baldwin has taught the art and science of contact lens fitting to optometry and ophthalmology residents at Wilford Hall Medical Center, the UAB School of Optometry, and the USAF School of Aerospace Medicine.

Dr Baldwin provides complete optometric eye exams to people of all ages, and prescriptions for glasses and contact lenses. He manages the UNC Contact Lens Clinic offering evaluations and prescriptions for contact lenses including: nearsighted, farsighted, astigmatism, colored, bifocals, and specialty medical fits for conditions like keratoconus, corneal transplants, and corneal trauma.
